Building Trust

In a recent survey conducted by FranklinCovey Middle East, 72% of Leaders in the Middle East have listed Trust as one of the key challenges they face inside their organizations.

Trust-related problems like redundancy, bureaucracy, fraud, and turnover put the skids on productivity, divert resources, squander opportunities, and chip away at a company’s brand. On the other hand, leaders who make building trust an explicit goal of their jobs elevate trust to a strategic advantage—accelerating growth, enhancing innovation, improving collaboration and execution, and increasing shareholder value.

A 2002 study by Watson Wyatt shows that total return to shareholders in high trust organizations is almost three times higher than the return in low trust organizations. That’s a difference of nearly 300%! An education study by Stanford Professor Tony Bryk reports that schools with high trust have more than a three times higher chance of improving test scores than schools with low trust. Trust is the most relevant speaking topic in organizations across all industries today because it directly impacts performance and sustainability in this new, flat world economy.

The SPEED of Trust challenges the age-old assumption that trust is merely a soft, social virtue and instead demonstrates that trust is a hard-edged, economic driver—a learnable and measurable skill that makes organizations more profitable, people more promotable, and relationships more energizing. Not only do we speak on the most relevant topic today; we speak from one of the most credible platforms of authority on trust, leadership performance, and ethics in the world.
